The Last Call
Those that refuse to obey God and worship His Christ will be given a final call. You understand what a last call is… I worked at Two Guys…
Revelation 14:6-12 presents to us the ministry of three different angels who are messengers of God’s final call. Angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. In the next section we see three angels… The role of angels will be a major factor in God’s judgment. We see, for example, in the gospel of Matthew in the parables of Jesus Christ that angels will be the reapers who will gather people at the end for judgment, as well as gathering the elect into the kingdom. — Matthew 13:41-43
These angels are given a mission to give a final call of God’s grace before the reaping of His harvest. They proclaim and bring astounding declarations about the end of the world. Before the chapter is over we’ll see as many as seven of them, but the first three are linked closely together with the role of giving the final warning.
1. Angel Number One -14:6-7
a. Angel number one proclaims the “Everlasting Gospel. It is almost unbelievable, but even at this very late date, God still gives the lost one more chance. This Everlasting Gospel is described as the announcement of divine judgment upon the wicked in the coming tribulation. The angel flies through the sky preaching the everlasting gospel to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.
b. God dispatch one angel so that the whole globe can hear him preach. In view of this those on the earth are given a final chance to repent and be saved. We see in verse 7 the cry for repentance and coming to God before it is too late. God is giving one last chance. If you follow me I will save you. It is the final call. It is almost unbelievable, but even at this very late date, God still gives the lost one more chance. — 2 Peter 3:9
This angel will have absolute liberty and freedom because all the demons of the air have been cast down to the earth and he flies in mid heaven.
c) Before the end comes, the whole world will hear the gospel of the kingdom. And what better way to make sure that everybody on the face of the earth hears day after day this angel proclaims this eternal gospel of the kingdom?
There will be no one who is ignorant. God will make sure that every single person in every tribe, nation, tongue and people know that if they worship God they will be saved and if they worship the Antichrist they will be judged.
Application:
Matthew 7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. … We must proclaim the everlasting gospel while we can to those we love…because we know- strait is the gate.
2. Angel Number Two -14:8
a. Angel #2 in verse eight declares Babylon is fallen and it implies the rejection of the message of the first angel. It is, as we shall see when we come to those chapters, the center of the false church, that which professes to be Christian but really is not.
b. Babylon, what is it? It began with the Towel of Babel and so Babel spawned all worldwide false religion. Babel was a group of rebellious people who decided they would build a city and a tower that would reach to the heavens and unite their world (Gen. 11:4). But God didn’t want them working on a grand, self-centered plan based on the idea that they could rise to the heights of God and solve all of their own problems. So He came down, stopped the project, scattered the people “over all the earth,” and gave them different languages (vv. 8-9). Babylon refers to the worldwide kingdom of the Antichrist. It’s just the name for the whole anti-god system of idolatry that is the worship of the Antichrist.
All the idols of the world were the children of Mother Babylon when the people were scattered. So the source of idolatry, it all came from Babel. That’s where it all originated. And in the end, it will all be reconstituted back in a final Babylon. The source of idolatry came from Babel. This pictures rebellion, idolatry, animosity and hatred toward God…
Through the false prophet this kingdom enticed the nations to drink the wine of her adulteries through idolatry. But Babylon is about to fall. This is good news for the people of God who had been persecuted by her.
c) Therefore if it is fallen so will the anti-christ. You will notice John says’ it is that great city. It is the command center for all the ecumenical garbage, the one world church that leads many to spiritual fornication again the true bridegroom “Jesus Christ”. Look at Revelation 17:5 note she is call mother of harlots and verse six describes her work. Jump to verse 18 and again we see it is describe as that great city that reigneth over the kings of the earth. We will come to the conclusion that this is the city of Rome once we study chapters 15-17.
3. Angel Number Three -14:9-12
a. Angel number three is pronouncing the damnation and impending judgment. This angel declares what it will be like for all those who have taken the mark of the beast. He declares the great wrath of God that will abide on them forever throughout verse 11.
We saw in Chapter 13 how the Antichrist exerts economic control of the whole world. No one can buy or sell without the mark of the beast imprinted into the back of the hand or on the forehead. According to this passage, the angel announces this is a fatal choice, the judgment of the worshippers of the beast. Those that choose to follow the false church and the beast and his world system will be lost, they will receive condemnation and what follows.
b) The wine of the wrath of God is said to be without mixture—that is whereas wine was so commonly mixed with water in these times; this wine of God’s wrath is undiluted. There is no drop of water to cool its heat. Nothing of His grace or hope is blended with it. This unmixed cup is already mingled and prepared for Satan and the beast’s followers. Look with me at…
Pro 23:31, 32 -Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright…
c. The Greek for “wrath” is boiling indignation, “to boil His “indignation or wrath. God’s enemies are regarded by the saints as their enemies, and when this day of probation is past their mind shall be completely one with God’s. They shall rejoice in witnessing visibly the vindication of God’s righteousness.
In this fiery ordeal of persecution which awaits all who will not worship the beast, the faith and patience of the followers of God and Jesus shall be put to the test, and proved.
d) Vv12 hü-po-mo-nā -” (who pom a nay) be patient’ hang in there, saints, because God is coming in judgment.” And if you’re martyred, if you die as a martyr, verse 13, blessed are you who die in the Lord. So don’t worry about that, God’s working out His wrath…working out His judgment. I Co. 15:58
“Here is the endurance of the saints, who keep,” the faith of Jesus–the faith which has Jesus for its object. When the earth is filled with violence and widespread hate, the work of the saints of that day is to wait. “This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints,” a determination not to yield at any point or to give way to the glorification of man in that day.
Conclusion:
God must ultimately withdraw from those who refuse his love. He must let them have their own way forever. That results in terrible torment of godlessness. If God is indispensable to us, then to take him out of our lives is to plunge us into the most terrible sense of loneliness and abandonment that mankind can know. Are you saved?
